As part of FXguide’s coverage of the Unreal Fellowship pilot class I was asked to do an interview talking a little about my experience in the class and the added value the new knowledge gives us.
I just completed the Epic Games Fellowship Pilot Program.
The full time six-week intensive blended learning experience was designed to help experienced industry professionals like myself
in film, animation, and VFX learn Unreal Engine, understand the state of the art in virtual production,
and be able to build teams using leading technologies and techniques in the emerging field of real-time production.
The Unreal Online Learning courses included , live training, guest lectures, and mentorship that focuses on Unreal Engine fundamentals,
model ingestion, animation and mocap integration, look dev, lighting setups, and cinematic storytelling.
Now that the course is complete, and I have a new set of tools in creative arsenal, I am once again looking for freelance remote work
or full time staff positions in, Animation, Games, VR, VFX, Previs, Virtual Art Department, TV, and Commercials
Here’s a new commercial I worked on at Digital Domain for Apple Arcade’s Ultimate Rivals
So far we haven’t gotten permission to get our shots so until then here’s a link to their YouTube video.
We worked on the first half of the spot with all the custom animation and closeups. The second half is the actual in game footage from the games creator.
The most unique and challenging of the three Energizer Bunny spots for me.
This was my longest single shot in the 3 Energizer Bunny Spots (The Writing on the Lease portion)

A Recent VR 360 project I was part of at The Mill.
Each animator was assigned certain animals to animate which became a little tricky at the end the more they begin to interact. I was responsible for the Two Sheep
A Shot from the Kaa sequence I was instrumental in designing from the timing to the poses.
I was the Animation point man assigned to work with the Snake Riggers in Developing Kaa's rig for the final animation team. After development on Kaa and her sequence was complete I moved over to serve as Advanced Pre-Visualization (Rough Animation) on many other sequences in the film.
